Phototherapy is a non-invasive, non-thermal treatment using Light Emitting Diodes to deliver specific wavelengths to the skin to bio-modulate processes in the tissue. The specific wavelengths stimulate and activate cellular processes in the body to help with wound healing, reduction of inflammation, lymph drainage.and other skin conditions.
Indications for LED:
- Reducing fine lines and wrinkles
- Eradicating p.acne bacteria
- Firms and tones the skin
- Increases circulation
- Stimulates and regenerates collagen and elastin
- Aids in wound healing and scar prevention
- Reduces inflammation and erythema
Frequency of treatments:
Each individual will respond differently to LED treatments. The length of time it may take to see results will depend on the depth of the condition. As LED works on the cellular processes in the skin the effects literally have to 'grow out' as the cell cycles more closer to the surface. Therefore the deeper the condition i.e. wrinkles, the longer the results may take to become evident.
As a general recommendation 1 - 3 treatments of LED per week over a 4 - 12 week period is usually sufficient for most skin conditions. When the desired results are achieved ongoing maintenance sessions are required 1 - 4 times per month.
